The second step of this tour foresees Roman Forum’s touring. The Forum, once the center of Rome’s public life, now contains ruins of many historical and important buildings of the Rome Empire: temples, churches, basilicas. The last stop of our tour is Palatine Hill: the center most of the Seven Hills of Rome and one of the most ancient parts of the city, it is immersed in an abundant vegetation and allows the sight of a stunning panorama of the archaeological ruins all round.

Where this sits in Rome

Rome is about 33 min by road from Rome Fiumicino Airport. Three thousand years stacked on top of each other, still busy being a capital. Stay central and walk — the Forum, the Pantheon and a dozen churches worth the detour are closer together than the map suggests, and the city rewards wandering more than ticking off.
