Villa Farnesina and complete Trastevere district , package price

Rome· Ancient city · food · artGerman, English, Italian

The Villa is a small jewel surrounded by gardens, where the Chigi family, powerful bankers, celebrated the wedding of Agostino with the courtesan Francesca Ordeaschi, the complex was designed by Peruzzi and decorated by himself and important artists. Famous is the lodge with the stories of Psyche, designed by Raphael and executed by his collaborators. Even Sebastiano del Piombo, great friend of Michelangelo, just arrived from Venice, gave his contribution in the horoscope room. Here, Raphael, in love, immortalized a famous woman in his Galatea. Our tour will continue towards Santa Maria in Trastevere, one of the most beautiful churches in Rome, with spectacular mosaics, we will then continue towards the river, where foreigners once lived, and we will end in the Basilica of Santa Cecilia, another wonderful church in Rome, immersed in silence. Tickets are not included and will be purchased on site, 15 euros, free up to 10 years

Where this sits in Rome

Rome is about 33 min by road from Rome Fiumicino Airport. Three thousand years stacked on top of each other, still busy being a capital. Stay central and walk — the Forum, the Pantheon and a dozen churches worth the detour are closer together than the map suggests, and the city rewards wandering more than ticking off.
