Private Val d'Orcia Experience - A cinematic universe

5.00(4)Val d'Orcia· Cypress hills · wine townsEnglish

Escape the hustle and bustle of Florence and experience the heart of Tuscany by visiting the enchanting Val d’Orcia, a Unesco World Heritage Site. The area is famous for the movies "Under the Tuscan Sun" and "Gladiator". The tour is a symbiosis between sightseeing, food and wine pairing and tasting. You will roam around the streets of the medieval towns of Montepulciano and Pienza. You will visit two family-run wineries and taste a wide spectrum of prestigious wines, ranging from 100% Sangiovese (including the exquisite Brunello di Montalcino) to a mixture of wine varietals, unique in nature. Lunch will be served at an organic farmhouse and restaurant that takes pride in producing high-quality products. Apart from a multi-course lunch, you will also feast on different types of raw milk cheeses, homemade bread and extra virgin olive oil.

Where this sits in Val d'Orcia

Val d'Orcia is about 2 hr 1 min by road from Florence Peretola Airport. The valley south of Siena that ended up on every calendar, and it does look like that. Montalcino for Brunello, Pienza for cheese, Montepulciano for both — small towns, long views, slow roads.
