What guests mention

Cleanliness2.3
Multiple guests reported dirty rooms, basement bathrooms with damp/musty smell, dirty kitchen items and plates left in dishwasher — cleanliness is a clear negative.
Service4.7
Several guests praised staff and phone assistance as impeccable and very helpful; there are isolated communication issues (Wi‑Fi troubleshooting, checkout key coordination) but overall staff responsiveness is consistently noted as strong.
Location5.0
Repeatedly described as excellent — prime spot on the Grand Canal with beautiful views and very walkable access to Venice attractions.
Room Quality4.0
Mixed: some rooms are spacious with great canal views, while others (bathroom in basement, dark/damp rooms, older furnishings) are disappointing; overall many guests still found rooms acceptable given the location.
Amenities2.5
Frequent amenity problems: unreliable or absent Wi‑Fi in rooms, broken coffee machine, nonworking elevator, out‑of‑order fridges, limited/forbidden kitchen use and poor air conditioning control.
Value for Money4.0
Several guests commented the property offers good value for Venice, especially given the unique canal-side location, despite some shortcomings in cleanliness and amenities.
Food and Beverage2.4
Negative mentions: coffee machine broken, dirty plates in dishwasher, lack of usable kitchen equipment and restricted kitchen access — F&B experience is weak.
Overall Experience4.0
Overall mixed but positive due to the outstanding location and helpful staff; however, repeated issues with cleanliness and amenities lowered the stay for several guests.

Where this sits in Venice

At €76 a night, Granda Sweet Suites is at the affordable end for Venice, where stays run €76 to €281 a night. Venice is about 11 min by road from Venice Marco Polo Airport. Extraordinary and genuinely crowded, and the two are easy to reconcile: stay the night. The day trippers leave around six, and the city that is left — quiet canals, lit windows, footsteps — is the one worth coming for.
