Florence: Private Cooking Class in Tuscany with Local Market Tour

5.00(2)Chianti· Vineyards · slow roadsEnglish

If you're looking for private cooking lessons, our incredible full-day tour starts in Florence and includes a tour of the historic central market as well as hands-on teaching in a typical farmhouse situated in the breathtaking Tuscan countryside. You will visit the famous San Lorenzo food market, where you will interact with Tuscan-born farmers, including bakers and butchers. Locals shop here, and you may peruse with them an extensive selection of cheeses, olives, fruits and vegetables, as well as balsamic vinegar. Then your guide will take you to a state-of-the-art kitchen. It is there, in a gorgeous Tuscan farmhouse on a private estate, that the class will begin. This goes beyond simple demonstration. Under the guidance of the skilled chef, you will prepare a traditional four-course Tuscan meal on your own. He'll show you how to make rich beef tomato sauce, pasta made with farm-fresh eggs, a delicious bruschetta, roast pork loin with potatoes and tiramisu. Chianti wine is included.

Where this sits in Chianti

Chianti is about 43 min by road from Florence Peretola Airport. The Tuscany people picture — vineyards, cypress avenues, hill towns half an hour apart. Needs a car, and rewards one: this is the area where an agriturismo and no plans is the right way to spend a week.
