Florence Historic Wine Enotecas Cafes and Local Food Experience
Discover the Medici gastronomic and Renaissance culture through an authentic experience of history, food, wine, and tradition. I am a chef, member of the Italian Federation of Chefs, and a sommelier, and I will guide you through places once frequented by great Renaissance figures such as Michelangelo Buonarroti, Lorenzo de’ Medici, Niccolò Machiavelli, and Agnolo Bronzino. We explore historic cafés, taverns, osterias, trattorias, and enotecas loved by Florentines, where nobles, artists, and thinkers once gathered. Starting at the historic Caffè Rivoire and other iconic cafés, we cross the legendary Ponte Vecchio and continue to traditional wine bars such as Pitti Gola e Cantina, plus hidden gems and historic markets still alive with authentic Florentine atmosphere. We taste traditional foods like lampredotto, Tuscan crostini, schiacciata, and local wines (at your own expense). How the Medici family shaped European gastronomy, turning dining into a symbol of art, beauty, and culture.

Where this sits in Florence
Florence is about 8 min by road from Florence Peretola Airport. Compact enough to cross on foot in half an hour, and holding more Renaissance art than most countries. Busy in the middle and calm five minutes out; the Oltrarno side of the river is where people actually live and eat.
