Colors and Traditions: Murano and Burano in water taxi with guide

4.95(22)Venice· Canals · quiet morningsEnglish, Italian, Spanish7 options

Colors and Traditions is a private 4-hour tour of Murano and Burano by water taxi, with a private guide included and up to 10 guests. The duration includes navigation and visits. The water taxi makes the transfers between the stops; during the stops on the islands it is not available to the group. A Murano you visit a furnace and watch the glassmakers' demonstration, included in the tour: you observe the work, it is not a practical workshop. In Burano discover the colorful houses, the alleys, and the workshops of the lace tradition. Changes to the itinerary must be agreed upon before departure, within the scheduled 4 hours. Lunch, drinks, personal purchases, and tips are excluded. The exact meeting point is agreed upon for the reservation.

Where this sits in Venice

Venice is about 11 min by road from Venice Marco Polo Airport. Extraordinary and genuinely crowded, and the two are easy to reconcile: stay the night. The day trippers leave around six, and the city that is left — quiet canals, lit windows, footsteps — is the one worth coming for.
