Planning your trip

How does the AI planner work?

Describe your trip — the dates, who is coming and the kind of holiday you want — and Salveva drafts a real, day-by-day itinerary from a curated catalogue of Italian places. Anything bookable on it is a genuine listing from that catalogue; the sights and meals between them are suggestions you can swap.

Is it free to plan?

Yes. Building an itinerary is completely free. You only pay when you choose to book somewhere to stay.

Can I change the itinerary?

Yes. Regenerate a whole day, remove a stop, add one from our catalogue, or move a base — push it around until the trip fits how you actually want to travel.

Are the places on my plan real?

Every bookable stop is a listing in our catalogue, grounded in real data rather than generated — if you can book it, it exists. The planner also drops in connecting stops like a lunch or a viewpoint; those are not bookings, and the editor only lets you replace them with something we actually list.

How many places should I fit in?

Fewer than you are about to. Italy's trains are fast, which makes it tempting to keep moving, but every hop costs you a morning — checking out, crossing a city, checking in. A week is comfortably two bases; ten days is three. The planner is built around that and will push back on a route that spends more time travelling than arriving.

What we book, and what we don't

Does Salveva book tours, trains or car hire?

No — we book places to stay, and that is all. Your plan will tell you when it thinks you need to move between cities and roughly how long it takes, but you book the train, the tour or the car yourself. We would rather do one thing properly than resell three badly, and Italy's rail network genuinely does not need a middleman.

Why is there no transport on my itinerary?

By design. A day on your plan is built around where you are staying and what is worth doing near it; getting between cities is left to you because you will almost always do it better and cheaper direct. If a day involves a move, the plan says so and leaves you the time for it.

Booking & payments

How do I book what's on my plan?

Each stay on your itinerary can be booked from the plan itself. You pay the property on its own secure payment page — we never see or store your card — and the confirmation and voucher come back to one place.

What currency will I pay in?

Euros. You can switch the display to dollars, pounds or francs if you would rather read the price in yours, but the booking is quoted and charged in euros, so the total you confirm is the amount that reaches your statement. Converted figures shown while browsing are estimates at the European Central Bank's daily reference rate.

What payment methods can I use?

Card, on the property's own secure payment page — they take the payment directly, so your card details never pass through us. The page opens as part of checkout; you do not go hunting for it.

How do I get my confirmation?

Once your payment goes through we email your booking confirmation and voucher. You can also find them any time in your account.

Changes & cancellations

Can I change or cancel a booking?

Cancellation and change terms are set by each property and shown on the listing before you book — read them, because they vary a lot between a city hotel and a small agriturismo. If you need a hand, get in touch and we will help sort it out.

Where do I find my bookings and vouchers?

Sign in and open Bookings & payments in your account. Each booking has a voucher you can view or download.

Your account

Do I need an account to use Salveva?
